In the book, "The Iliad", Homer describes the Trojan War. In this book, he shows how honour is not always a good thing. The Greek ruler, Agamemnon, is killed by the Greek warrior Achilles in a quarrel over a woman. Agamemnon was quite proud of his possession of a woman named Briseis.

His pride was so great that he did not stop at stealing her from her father and raping her. He actually ordered his men to kill all of Briseis' brothers when they came to her rescue. In the end, Agamemnon's pride got him killed when Achilles killed him with a sword in his hand.
